How to Preview Module Position in Joomla Site

How to preview the module position in a Joomla site? It seems an essential thing when you create a Joomla site, especially for a page with many modules. And in this article, we will show you some steps to preview the module positions in the front end of your Joomla site.

There are 4 steps here, just follow one by one and you will feel amazing about the result.

Step 1:

Firstly, please go to your site at the backend or Admin Panel. Then go to Extension/Template Manager and click on the Options button at the top right of the window to open the Template Manager Options.

Step 2:

In the Template Manager Options, please choose Enabled for option: "Preview Module Positions".

Step 3:

To be continued, navigate to the website page you wish to see the module positions for in your web browser. After that, click into the URL field in your browser and add ‘’?tp=1" at the end of URL.

http://your-site/?tp=1

http://your-site/blog?tp=1

Step 4:

Now, please refresh your site; you can see the module positions appear right in the front end of the page. They will be outlined in red.

However, please note that in some circumstances there may be module positions available that are not outlined in red. This can happen when a template defines those module positions as conditional on there being modules enabled in that position. If there are no modules enabled in that position then the template may adapt and the position will not be visible.

Supper easier, isn’t it? We hope that with some very simple steps, the module positions in your site will become an easy question for you.
